What is InfraCompare?
A static cloud infrastructure catalog for quick price and spec comparison. Each instance type gets its own page with on-demand pricing, specs, regional breakdowns, and cheaper alternatives. Built for search and side-by-side decisions.
Which vendors and services are covered?
AWS, GCP, and Azure compute are live today, along with AWS RDS, ElastiCache, and related catalog entries. Coverage expands vendor by vendor; pages only appear for data that has passed pipeline validation.
What pricing is included?
On-demand hourly rates in USD from vendor bulk feeds. Linux shared-tenancy pricing where the feed distinguishes it. Reserved, Spot, savings plans, and Dedicated Host pricing are not in the core yet.
How do regions work?
Each resource page stores per-region on-demand prices. The default region is shown first (
us-east-1 for AWS). The region picker on SKU pages updates hourly, monthly, and comparison tables for the selected region.How are comparisons calculated?
Same architecture, vCPU within ±1, memory within ±4 GB. The Compare panel on SKU pages ranks matches by cost, $/vCPU, $/GB RAM, or similar presets. Direct
/vs/ pages compare two specific SKUs side by side.Why might prices differ from the vendor console?
Rates change often. Billing also depends on OS, tenancy, commitments, taxes, and currency. Always confirm the final price on the vendor checkout page before provisioning.
How often is data updated?
An automated pipeline checks vendor feeds daily. When pricing changes, feeds are re-ingested; otherwise we still record a freshness check. SKU pages show Pricing updated (last ingest) and Last refreshed (last daily check).
